Action for the Elderly

At DAVO, we believe that compassion is more than just a feeling – it’s a call to action. For over 35 years, we have been committed to turning our compassion into tangible support for the abandoned and needy elderly in our communities. Through our comprehensive programs and initiatives, we strive to be a beacon of hope and assistance for those who need it most.

Bridging Generations, Nourishing Souls

Our old age homes in Delhi and Ganaur offer a safe and comfortable environment where over 230 elderly individuals receive nutritious meals, a warm bed, and access to essential amenities. By meeting their basic needs, we ensure that they have a stable foundation from which to rebuild their lives.

Fostering a Sense of Community and Belonging

Beyond meeting their practical needs, we recognize the importance of fostering a sense of community and belonging among the elderly. Through social activities, events, and outings, we create opportunities for our residents to connect with one another, forge friendships, and share their experiences. These interactions not only combat loneliness and isolation but also enrich their lives in meaningful ways.

In the bustling streets of Delhi, amidst the chaos and clamor of everyday life, there exists a humble hero – Devdas Goswami. For over four decades, Devdas, a former truck driver, has dedicated his life to serving the homeless and needy, embodying the true spirit of compassion and selflessness.

A Heartfelt Beginning

Born into a lower-middle-class family in Haryana, Devdas experienced the harsh realities of poverty from a young age. With his father’s military service necessitating frequent relocations, Devdas often found himself struggling to make ends meet. At just 15 years old, he left school and ventured into the world of odd jobs, earning a meager income of Rs 50 to 60 per month.

Compassion in Action

It was during his time as a truck driver that Devdas’s compassionate nature truly shone through. Moved by the sight of hungry and helpless individuals along the highways, he made it his mission to provide them with food and support. Armed with just Rs 500 in earnings each month, Devdas equipped his truck with a kerosene stove and provisions to cook meals for the needy during his journeys.

I have been to this place a few times. My heart pains to see the condition of the people living there. I request all to kindly donate groceries, warm clothes and daily supplies in whatever capacity possible. Every little help will go a long way to help these really really needy people.

The NGO home has lot of old people staying in it.I went there to donate nebuliser, urobag, adult diapers and some medicines. After confirming with the care taker(Chanchal),these items would be used.Would suggest people to donate medicine, food, clothes etc instead of donation. But on the cons side,at the entrance gate lot of foul smell,I can understand taking care of the homeless old people is not an easy task.Plus the place looked very dingy not sure whether any source of entertainment to these people available or not or whether there is some specific time for entertainment.May God Shiva Bless them🙏🕉️💐
